CEO & Producer
The founder of the company Ulrik Bolt Jørgensen, has more than 25 years' experience as exec. producer, responsible for development, finance, production and distribution, specializing in international co-production and elevating Scandinavian stories to meet an international audience.
He established Arena Film in 1992 and produced for TV2/Denmark the TV-Series BICYCLE COUNTRY (dir. Lars Hesselholdt), THE NORTHKAPER (dir. Ulrik Bolt Jørgensen), TIME-LAPSE (dir. Simon Jon Andreasen) and the feature films BELMA (dir. Lars Hesselholdt), KATJAS ADVENTURE (dir. Lars Hesselholdt) and several shorts for the program New Fiction Denmark: HENNING THE HERO, BEAR MONKEY and ANTOTHER BLUE DAY. During 1990es he as well produced and directed TV Commercials for international brands.
The documentary series THE NORDKAPER on circumnavigation with the adventure, successful writer and captain Troels Kløvedal, was picked up for theatrical by UIP to become a record B.O. hit and a returning tent-pole series for TV2/ Denmark.
In 1998 Arena Film joined forces with the distribution company Angel Films. Up till 2003 the company produced, co-produced and/or distributed several films like SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT (En Kort En Lang), MISERY HARBOUR and DANCER IN THE DARK (Lars von Trier) a.o.
From 2003- 16 Bolt Jørgensen was heading the Film Commission in Copenhagen and was the driving force behind the establishment of Copenhagen Film Fund, working with projects like THE DANISH GIRL, WALLANDER and MIDSOMER MURDERS.
He graduated as Producer from The National Film School of Denmark as Creative Producer in 1991, EAVE 1994, FASTLANE/PolyGram 1997, supervisor at ACE 2004 and a member of The European Film Academy and European Producers Club. Since 2006 he is acting as National Coordinator for EAVE.
